I'm John. I live in Wicklow, Ireland with my family. I lead research at Workday by day, and I build small AI experiments in the evenings — sometimes useful, sometimes a way to think about an idea that won't sit still.
I started out in Web Design when that was a thing, spent some time building mobile sites for Telecoms and well-known Game companies, followed by designing order ahead apps at Mastercard, before it became a thing. I moved to 5th Avenue where I helped Mastercard design the next gen of online payments, collaborating with the other big players of the payment industry. Staying at the bleeding edge of innovation I led research and design for Mastercard's Digital Identity solution, again, before it became a thing.
Looking back, I've always been at the centre of a mental model shift for users, and now is no different as we help our Workday customers and employees enter their AI era.
Outside of all that: 3 growing children, long walks, slow cooking, whisky drinking, and a growing record collection.
